Estimated Pay: Starting at $95K/year
Work Schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 0800-1630
Excluding recognized U.S. holidays and facility closures due to emergencies.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive dental examinations, evaluate current oral health, and assess the risk of future oral disease in accordance with AR 40-35.
Document examination findings on paper forms (DD 2813, SF 603) and electronically in DENCLASS.
Educate Soldiers on resources available to improve oral health and dental readiness.
Report significant or concerning findings to the Deputy State Surgeon or their designee.
Assess current oral health and determine the risk of future oral diseases in accordance with Army standards (AR 40-35).
Coordinate dental treatment plans with appropriate medical or dental facilities.
Attend mass medical readiness events to complete dental examinations as required.
Follow all military, legal (HIPAA and Privacy Act), and regulatory policies and procedures applicable to individual medical readiness (IMR) and deployment concerning dental readiness including but not limited AR 40-35, AR 40-501, AR 40-502, and other applicable guidance.
Qualifications:
Education: DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
License: Valid, unrestricted dental license in the State of Maryland.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a dentist, preferably with a military population.
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Language: English Proficiency
US Citizen
Special Requirements:
The dentist must possess the necessary technical skills and expertise to perform duties independently. The dentist must hold a current dental license from the state of Maryland, which must be renewed and maintained throughout the duration of the contract.
Obtain Medical Malpractice insurance prior to the start of the contract.
Adhere to universal precautions and infection control measures.
Protect personally identifiable information (PII)
Furnished Equipment and Services:
Workspace, dental suite, office supplies, dental tools, and utilities provided at the facility.
